Two Truths and A Lie

I love playing games. It doesn’t matter if they are board games, video games, computer games, card games, or party games. I enjoy planning, being strategic, and having fun with friends. Last night, Steve and I headed over to Brentwood (30 minutes away) to spend the evening with friends. We had amazing chicken curry for supper and this tasty strawberry cream dessert. We drank tea and wine and had a wonderful time. We also told jokes and played a couple of games: Two Truths and a Lie and Balderdash. I stomped the competition on Balderdash. It was a blast.

What I would like to do with you today is play: Two Truths and a Lie. The concept is simple. I will make three statements. Two of them with be true facts about me and one (obviously) will be a lie. You can make your guesses in the comments and sometime this weekend I’ll come back and announce who has won! (Friends that know me well and family need not apply!) If no one responds, that’s okay too! I’ll still tell you which one was the lie!

Here we go…

1) When I was a teenager my dad and one of his friends was teaching me how to water ski. They told me everything EXCEPT that when I fall, I must let go of the handle. My first attempt I barely got up before I face planted into the lake. I held on for dear life until I had swallowed what felt like the entire lake. On the verge of drowning, I finally let go. I have never attempted water skiing since that fateful day.

2) While attending Mt. Hood Community College I was a member of the school paper, “The Advocate.” I was in the Journalism program and enjoyed creating a weekly newspaper. Within one term I was promoted from a staff writer to the Editor and Chief of the paper! I was most excited because that came with a full scholarship.

3) There was this one time in Mexico that my family and a few other people were swimming in the ocean. We had noticed a boat coming to shore but ignored it. Before we knew it, we looked over and right near us was a bunch of sharks circling. The fishing boat had just cleaned out all of the fish they caught right near us and the pool of blood was attracting the sharks! Needless to say we got the heck out of there!

Feel free to reply with two truths and a lie of your own for me to guess! Best of luck!
